THE CIRCUS, A WORLD IN THE CITY convention by Pantakin Venezia
Inside the project “Arcipelago Circo Teatro”, the Pantakin da Venezia organizes a convention called “The Circus. A world in the city” that takes place at the Goldoni Theatre between 18th and 19th of December.
By Alessandro Serena, the meeting is a moment of reflection for show-business operators, historians, journalists, artists, teachers, university students, etc.., hoping to draw the attention of municipal administrators and make them care about circus matters (as, for example, production support, different kinds of promotion, alternative sites and sites availability).
At the meeting (anyone can partecipate) will be present, as reporters, many important people from circus world, journalism, theatre, and culture in general, such as: Luigi de Fusco (Goldoni’s Theatre director); Roberto Bianchin (Writer, journalist); Aldo Giuponi (Pantakin’s President); Francesco Mocellin (Ministry of Culture – circus branch); Marco Martini (Historian, CONI consultant); Marcello Chiarenza (film director and figurative artist); Antonio Giarola (Documentation Center for Circus Arts); Emilio Vita (Journalist and historian, Ravenna Festival’s Director); Ruggero Leonardi (Writer, journalist, Ministry of Culture – circus branch).
The records of these two days will be published in a volume of wide diffusion.
The event is organized in association and with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Venice Municipality, Region Veneto, Carlo Goldoni Theatre and CEDAC (Centro Documentazione Arti Circensi).
