Tradizione e
cultura dell' antica arte circense si mescolano in questo importante evento giunto quest'anno alla sua sesta edizione e divenuto la pista ideale ed ambita per artisti under 21 provenienti da scuole, accademie e circhi di quindici nazioni, decisi ad affermarsi ed imporre le proprie performance davanti ad un pubblico tra i più qualificati. A capo dell’organizzazione Giulio Montico, rampollo oramai sessantenne di un’antica famiglia circense, che da domatore e giocoliere in gioventù, appassionato e visionario in età matura, è riuscito a dare corpo alle sue fantasie facendole diventare realtà nel Festival Internazionale del Circo "Città di latina". Una realtà talmente solida che oggi ottiene i riconoscimenti più alti come i premi speciali del Presidente della Repubblica, i patrocini del Presidente del Consiglio dei Ministri, del Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali e degli Affari Esteri, della Regione Lazio e degli Enti Locali. Quest’anno, inoltre, il Festival si dedica anche alla solidarietà divenendo partner di BNL Telethon con l'obiettivo di contribuire alla raccolta di fondi da destinare alla ricerca scientifica sulle malattie genetiche. Inoltre, durante la programmazione del Festival, che ha la direzione artistica di Antonio Giarola, sarà organizzato un convegno che avrà un tema di grande interesse: “EUROPEAN CIRCUS FESTIVALS – SIGNIFICATI E PROSPETTIVE”. Il tema, attinente al contesto in cui verrà svolto, riveste un'importanza strategica alla luce di potenziali accordi di cooperazione tra i differenti festivals Internazionali. Al convegno, presieduto da Martin Hanson , presidente dell'European Circus Association (E.C.A.), interverranno personaggi e direttori delle principali scuole e complessi circensi mondiali tra cui Urs Pilz, Rebecca Simoneit, Carol Gandey, Gonzales Villa, Istvan Kristof, Stanislaw Zalewski, Ton Rennings, Philippe Haenen e molti direttori ed impresari artistici italiani. Come in passato la giuria sarà presieduta da Egidio Palmiri presidente dell'Ente Nazionale Circhi e dell'Accademia d'Arte Circense di Verona. |
6° International Circus Festival “City of Latina”
from 21th to 25th of October 2004 Culture and tradition of the ancient circus art mix up together in this important event, this year at his 6th edition. It became the ideal and wanted ring for artists under 21 years old, coming from schools, academies and circuses of 15 nations, who want to achieve success and perform in front of one of the most qualified audience.
Chief of the organization is Giulio Montico, a sixty years old offset man from an ancient circus
family, tamer and juggler during his youth, passioned and visionary in mature age; he made his fantasy come true in the International Circus Festival “City of Latina”.
A strong reality that gains many important awards as the one of the President of the Republic,
of the Prime Minister, of the Ministry of Culture and Foreign Affairs, of Region Lazio and Locals Corporations.
This year the Festival is also interested in solidarity: it has become a BNL Telethon partner to contribute to money’s collection for scientific research on genetic diseases. Besides the Festival, directed by Antonio Giarola, will be also organised a meeting about: “European Circus Festival – Meanings and Perspectives”. The subject, related to the context, has a special importance because of a potential cooperation between different International Festivals.
At the convention - conducted by Martin Hanson , President of the ECA (European Circus Association) – will be present people and directors from the most important circuses and schools in the world,
such as Urs Pilz. Rebecca Simoneit, Carol Gandey, Gonzales Villa, Istvan Kristof, Stanislaw Zalewski, Ton Rennings, Philippe Haenen and many directors and Italian artistic managers.
As in the past, the President of the jury will be Egdio Palmiri, President of the National Circuses Corporation and of the Circus Art Academy. |
